Models and Sizes

Hearing aids come in a range of sizes. While being discreet is an important consideration for many wearers, there are
trade-offs in terms of features that are not available with the smallest devices.

IIC

(Invisible-in-Canal)

Pros: The smallest custom-fitted option, IIC models are barely detectable and suited for mild to moderate hearing loss, offering excellent discretion.

Trade-Off: The small size restricts the inclusion of features like directional microphones, rechargeable batteries, and direct Bluetooth connectivity, which could enhance the listening experience

ITC

(In-the-Canal)

Pros: Slightly larger, these aids can accommodate more advanced features such as directional microphones and manual program adjustments, beneficial for mild to moderately severe hearing loss.

Trade-Off: Their size, while still discreet, is more noticeable than smaller canal models.

BTE (open fit)

(Behind the Ear (open fit)

Pros: Combines a nearly invisible behind-the-ear design with an open fit that allows natural sound quality. Suitable for mild to moderate hearing loss and available in various colors.

Trade-Off: The open fit might not be suitable for users with more severe hearing loss who require greater sound amplification.

CIC

(Completely-in-Canal)

Pros: The smallest custom-fitted option, CIC models are barely detectable and suited for mild to moderate hearing loss, offering excellent discretion.

Trade-Off: The small size restricts the inclusion of features like directional microphones, rechargeable batteries, and direct Bluetooth connectivity, which could enhance the listening experience

BTE (Closed)

(Behind the Ear (closed fir)

Pros: Ideal for moderately-severe to profound hearing loss, these models offer high power and sound occlusion, with a range of color options for personalisation..

Trade-Off: The presence of an external case and moulded earpiece can be noticeable, though they are designed to be as discreet as possible
